Bleibt Andy Carroll doch bei West Ham?

David Gold is not aware of any talks having taken place with Liverpool over Andy Carroll but admits West Ham would be interested if the striker became available.

"I am not aware of any talks between ourselves or Liverpool over Andy Carroll," said Gold.

Newly-promoted West Ham would like to take Carroll and will make an inquiry of their own but their best chance of success may rest on the England international’s close friendship, forged at Newcastle United, with West Ham captain Kevin Nolan.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce also shares an agent, Mark Curtis, with Carroll and that might help their cause, but the club would want the player’s wages to be subsidised by Liverpool.

Sam Allardyce admits he would welcome the opportunity to bring Andy Carroll to West Ham United, but concedes any move will depend on the player.

"You can't say you wouldn't be interested in Andy Carroll, he's a player who has got great stature in the Premier League," Allardyce told Sky Sports News HD.

"Whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham is another matter."

Asked if he would favour a loan move or a permanent deal for the 23-year-old striker, Allardyce added: "It depends on whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham."

Interviewed by Sky Sports News, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has declared about the possibility to sign Liverpool 23 year old Andy Carroll or Manchester United 30 year old Dimitar Berbatov: "I think that we're not in a situation where we can secure a deal with Andy or Liverpool at the moment. We talked to them, we had some negotiation. But at the moment there is nothing progressing forward on Andy coming to West Ham. There was a statement from Dimitar saying he's available for £5million. Everybody knows we're looking for a striker so they say we're in for him, but I've not had any conversations with Sir Alex".

He told Sky Sports News HD: "I think that we're not in a situation where we can secure a deal with Andy or Liverpool at the moment.

"We talked to them, we had some negotiation. But at the moment there is nothing progressing forward on Andy coming to West Ham.

West Ham have increased their efforts to sign Andy Carroll by offering to take the Liverpool striker on loan for an initial fee of £2m with £16m added on top of that to make the move permanent provided the Hammers avoid relegation from the Premier League next season.

An der Anfield Road wurde er aber nie richtig heimisch, die Reds würden ihn wieder abgeben.

Andy Carroll: West Ham agree loan fee with Liverpool

West Ham United have agreed a £2m loan fee with Liverpool for Andy Carroll.

The deal for the England striker is with a view to a permanent transfer of £17m, providing West Ham United stay in the Premier League.

However, it is thought Carroll does not wish to leave Liverpool on a permanent basis.

The Reds turned down a bid from Newcastle to re-sign the player, having bought him from the Magpies for a club record fee of £35m in January 2011.
